Star Trek 4 Enlists First Female Director in S.J. Clarkson
378Variety is reporting that S.J. Clarkson has been tapped to be the first female director to helm a “Star Trek” film as she will be taking the reins on Star Trek 4. Paramount Pictures has not officially made the announcement yet. The studio did announce at CinemaCon that they are planning a fourth movie with Chris Hemsworth and Zachary Quinto is set to return. Paramount alos announced that they are developing another Star Trek film from J.J. Abrams and Quentin Tarantino. Variety is also reporting that a key plot point focuses on Chris Pine’s James T. Kirk character running into his father George Kirk (Hemsworth) in a time travel ploy. Clarkson is known for her directing work on TV with shows like ‘Dexter’, ‘Bates Motel’, ‘Orange is the New Black’, ‘Jessica Jones.’ and ‘The Defenders.’
