18Today's Starship Spotlight is the NX-05 Atlantis. The NX-05 Atlantis is an NX-class starship representing one of Earth's pioneering Warp 5 vessels. Operating during the mid-22nd century, the Atlantis was designed for deep space exploration, diplomatic missions, and defense during the Romulan War. Its first commanding officer was Captain Weiss. Unfortunately, Atlantis was destroyed on June 20, 2156 over Tau Ceti IV during the Romulan invasion, but the crew managed to get into the escape pods.
