Star Trek Infinite | 5 | Fighting Klingons
A few hours into the game, my initial reaction is that it feels confusing, and impersonal. Despite having an emotional connection to the Star Trek franchise, this one is hard to get into.
My consensus still remains that it's a non-stop onslaught of pop up windows and walls of text, with very little graphical stimulation or eye candy outside buttons and icons. Despite the fact that this is supposed to be a game.
There isn't really any reason to from an attachment with a specific Star System, as they all feel pretty much the same. It also feels like the game struggles to find a balance between a story-driven narrative and a true player-driven sandbox.
I would echo what a lot of others seem to be saying about this game, which is that while it is an OK game, Stellaris would probably be a better investment, for most players... but for $30, it's still a bargain and a treat to see a new Star Trek title on the market.
