23Star Wars: An Age Of Rebellion RPG Actual Play: Episode 0 | Galactic Youth Overview by TableTop NerdCast, is our normal inaugural session to let the viewers know about the general story and background we will be creating. GM Mike, takes you through the initial plot, Character Creation, backstory elements of the players, player introductions, and homebrew rules where we deviate from the Rules as Written.
Galactic Youth is a Star Wars Story centering on the Fantasy Flight Games (FFG) Age of Rebellion Role Playing Game system but set in a time period around 4 ABY. It is following the Death of the Emperor on the Forrest Moon of Endor; however, it is staged on the aftermath that takes place on Coruscant. Our Players will be Children between the age of 10 and 14 who get swept up in the chaos.
We did not do a Star Wars Episode Opening Crawl from a cinematic perspective, so we could dive right into the game details and the game itself, but for those who would like to read it, it is Narrated in Episode 0, but can read the following.

The GALACTIC EMPIRE has learned about the destruction of the DEATHSTAR over the forest moon of Endor. In the days following the battle, news of the EMPEROR'S death is spreading across the furthest reaches of the galaxy like an uncontrolled wildfire. Key leaders in the Imperial Order have denounced the information as a hoax by the REBEL ALLIANCE to undermine Peace and Order. Regional Governors and Moffs alike begin the arduous task to control these rumors, and soon at the direction of the Ministry of Information the Holonet media across Imperial space are censoring any communication or stories referring to these devastating events, while the Imperial Press Corps continued to operate as if the Emperor was in control of the Empire.
Meanwhile, On Coruscant, Mas Amedda, the CHAGRIAN politician, who has long stood at the emperor’s side as the GRAND VIZIER of the Empire attempts to continue the Emperor’s policies by uniting it under his leadership using the vast resources of the COMPNOR office to disseminate his orders to military leaders. However, Key military Leaders holding the belief that non-humans were second class citizens started sending scouts to Endor to confirm these rumors, choosing to disregard the instructions of the Grand Vizier and wanting to confirm if the flood of Imperial Press Corps releases are propaganda.
With the Empire fracturing before their eyes, Counselor Gallius Rax and Grand Admiral Rae Sloane begin their own jockeying for the ultimate prize, the throne. Gallius, preferring to operate in the shadows, ordered key officers loyal to him to head to the unknown regions to establish Imperial bases to be used in the future, while Sloane ordered all fleet leadership from Endor to Akiva for a summit. During this time Gallius and Slone used ISB agents to confirm the attempt by Mas Amedda to unify the Imperial forces under his banner and agreed that as a non-human, he would never sit at the head of the Imperial government, regardless of his current role under the Emperor.
As the days passed the imperial military, Intelligence, Security, and police forces became more independent of one another. Each jockeying for control of their piece of the imperial homeworld. These leaderless factions left the non-human citizenship on the lower levels of Coruscant feeling more empowered. Police forces were not receiving the military backup required to settle the unease, and level by level the discontent ascended until it eventually spilled out upon the upper levels of the planet.
Demonstrations started to turn violent, Martial law was instituted, and deadly force was now being used much more quickly to quell these outbursts.
One of these Celebrations, at Monument Plaza, quickly turned deadly as Coruscant Security Forces arrived to restore order when a mob destroyed the status of the Emperor. Civilians, both human and non-human were gunned down without remorse. Some of these civilians were women and children, but in the chaos of the massacre, the masses started overtaking security forces and arming themselves. This riot had now become a full-scale battle, with one side desperate to remove themselves from the imperial oppression and the other bent on control.
As many of the people fled in panic, children are separated from family members by the crowds while others witness the unthinkable, military and security forces killing their parents and siblings. This RIOT at Monument Park will become known as the turning point on Coruscant in its attempt to become liberated. Unknown to the Empire, it's the kids who bear witness to this tragedy who will light the way to change…………
