Starcraft 64 Episode 1 Tutorial: Officer Training Speedrun 4:13
I suck at Starcraft, so I have no idea how to maximize damage output. The balance in this mission when speedrunning is to create the fewest fighters needed, but not push with so few fighters that they die in combat. Here is the paper math:
(1) If pushing with 4 marines causes 2 to die, the result is a pushing power of 2 marines. The fight would've started early, but would've been a long fight, and future fights will be very long.
(2) If pushing with 5 marines causes 1 to die, you have 4 remaining in a fight that started 1 marine creation timer later, was a faster fight, and is double the future pushing power than the previous scenario.
This kind of optimization takes (1) the time and dedication to test various push timings and (2) the skill to path marines in a way that has them engaging together instead of in a perpendicular line. I am not a firebat enjoyer, but maybe they are good.
