Here you can learn some very important points when making big turrets that can actually survive combat, and also avoid the most common design flaws I see people making all the time.

[IMPORTANT: My apologies, the Turrets with shields does now share the shields with the main ship even if they have their own shields also. If you have space there is no harm having shields on the turrets, however I still recommend opting your turrets for damage instead]
