Despite the name, there's not too much tactics involved in the game. You're free to grind previous levels for additional experience.
I one-shot most things at the start because I was much higher than the enemy level after finishing the two-star difficulty, but the enemy level catches up quickly.
If playing for achievements, never sell anything as you need to upgrade all ship and weapons to 3 stars.
