The collaboration marked a significant moment in hip-hop history due to Biggie's unique adoption of Bone Thugs' rapid-fire style, a departure from his traditional flow. Stevie J recalled vividly the lively studio session in Los Angeles where the groundwork was laid. He recounted how Biggie requested Stevie J to produce the beat while emphasizing the creative environment that spurred Biggie’s self-proclaimed best performance. After hearing Bone Thugs lay down their verses, Biggie postponed recording his part, opting to complete it in New York. The result was a testament to Biggie's versatility and confidence, as he declared himself "the best" after his studio session.
