Stock futures fluctuate before the Fed's decision
As Wall Street prepared for the Federal Reserve's much-anticipated policy statement, U.S. stock futures shook Wednesday morning.
After the two-day meeting closes at 2:00 p.m. ET, the U.S. central bank is anticipated to increase its benchmark short-term interest rate by 0.75% for a fourth consecutive time.
The 30-stock Dow Jones Industrial Average futures were down by 0.1%, while those linked to the S&P 500 were essentially flat. Contracts on the heavily weighted Nasdaq Composite for technology rose by almost the same amount.
Bond yields increased alongside stock prices. The rate-sensitive two-year rates increased to approximately 4.5%, while the benchmark 10-year note maintained a yield around 4%.
