we take this time to explore the situation surrounding ala mhigo at present, and what we discover is the horror of subjugation, where the next generation is raised and taught by the empire to be imperials, effectively poisoning the future and ensuring that the offspring follow in garlemald's footsteps while the old are left to wither in their impotent outrage at the horror of the perfectly logical failure that is their inability to control or maintain the future of their nation, for the people are the nation, raise children to believe in your creed and they won't be ala mhigans any longer.

it's a startlingly efficient tactic that leads me to wonder why other conquering nations chose instead to raze and murder as opposed to sabotaging the citizenry by raising the children themselves in real life? garlemald is nothing if not insightful, and i shudder to think of how wars could be fought if this tactic had ever been employed.

in case you've not noticed yet, this rebellion plotline is effectively a reimagining of ffxii's plot, but far easier to process and better written. the legion that serves as our antagonist for this expansion, the xiith legion, is a further reference to this fact.
