This is the start of a new livestream series, hip hip hurray.

This is stormbound, a free to start multiplayer android game which is also available on PC. I am playing this on linux because I can't stand using such a tiny screen, and I refuse to use windows.

Stormbound is a unique twist on card-based 2 player strategy. Cards cost energy to play, and produce some kind of effect on the game. However, unlike magic the gathering or its many clones, the field of play is also a game board. Cards often are played to place units on the board with movement rules.

All you have to do to win is injure your opponent by getting enough units accross the board to their side.

I keep coming back to stormbound again and again whenever I get the magic itch. Like most free-to-start games it is very money hungry, but a skilled player will do pretty well most of the time. All the power creep appears to be at the top level of play, which I am not at.
