Story Mapping my 5e Homebrew Campaign - Skull & Shackles
16It all started so normally. Skull & Shackles converted from pathfinder 1e to D&D 5e. But somewhere along the way, after a year of play, the campaign we are playing barely resembles the written adventure. We decided to lean into the changes and now the goal is a campaign focused on character backstory exploration and interconnected plotlines. BUT THAT IS COMPLICATED. So... that's when the huge flow chart comes into play. Join me on a journey into insanity as I map out and explore the 6+ different character story arcs I have planned for the second half of this campaign.

What is Skull & Shackles?
Combining the best parts of the classic pirate-themed Pathfinder adventure path Skull & Shackles, 5e Ghosts of Saltmarsh, and ample amounts of Homebrew (Firearms!). New horizons of adventure now lie before you. What wonders and terrors will you discover across the waves? Set sail and find out!
Embark on a fantastic pirate campaign filled with exotic races and locales. Explore the Outer Seas of Paradise Vale! Pirate Lords roam the enchanted island chains known as "The Shackles," each hoping to outwit and outmatch their rivals as they vie for complete dominion of the waterways.
Treacherous Valorians engage in brutal ship combat with the bloodthirsty Carcharions. Inventive Selkies push the limits of science and magic, creating ever more dangerous gunpowder armaments. Tritons, Crabfolk, Sahuagin, and more maintain settlements above and below the waves, each looking to gain as much power and plunder as they can. Ruins of ancient Cyclopian, Dunduran, and Aldfaer empires lie buried beneath sand and sea.
