Grinding the supplies needed to survive this ship is probably harder than the boss itself. There appears to be no healing point on this ship, meaning you will need to play very conservatively if you want to make a profit while grinding.

Edit: Actually, there is one, though it's right before the boss.

Obviously, holy branches help, as well as a stockpile of AP healing items.
