0I believe the actual achievement is for defeating it without shooting a bullet OR destroy all statues. As you can see, I only use one statue but I did not shoot a bullet.
I use a fair bit of healing items so it's nothing you can't just brute force your way through if it gets too frustrating. I definitely wouldn't waste my time on all the statues, that just sounds annoying.
