We’re knee-deep in the age of remakes, Gold Editions, Game of the Year rehashes, HD re-releases, and whatever else publishers can slap a shiny label on. Sometimes, it’s a tragic sign of stagnation. But not this time.
Stronghold Crusader: Definitive Edition is a glorious exception.
It’s not just good. It’s easily the best Stronghold title to date. Sure, the AI occasionally behaves like it’s had one too many flagons of ale, and their castle construction can be more chaotic than strategic. But honestly. That’s part of the charm.
This game isn’t about perfection. It’s about pure, unfiltered fun, and there’s plenty of it here.
