Strontium Dog 2000AD Character Game on ZX Spectrum Quicksilva 1984 Paul Hargreaves Comic Tie In Game
Created by John Wagner (under the pseudonym T.B. Grover) and artist Carlos Ezquerra for the British comic Starlord in 1978. When Starlord was cancelled, Strontium Dog transferred to 2000AD, another British comic. After Ezquerra's death in 2018 the series was put on hiatus indefinitely.
It was released on the ZX Spectrum from Quicksilva Ltd released in 1984. Authored by Paul Hargreaves and contributed to by Carlos Ezquerra (inlay and poster art).
Based on the storyline 'The Killing' from progs 350-359, Alpha has to rid the galaxy of 'vicious murderers' by roaming through a maze of corridors and rooms killing the murderers with his gun.
Interestingly it was submitted to Quicksilva complete and had actually been based on the the 2000AD character while being designed and coded. Originally entitled 'The Killing' it was suggested by Hargreaves to Quicksilva it would make a good 2000AD/Strontium Dog tie-in.
So what better way to get your Strontium Dog/Johnny Alpha fix, than shooting 'vicious murderers' in the guise of an S/D Agent.
