The curse is broken.

I remember always hearing this song in the background while playing MX vs. ATV Supercross Encore. Since that game didn't have a jukebox, I never knew what the song was called. All I remember was the chorus (specifically, just the word "calling" which I didn't even know was said at the time) and would be very cringely singing it on the school bus. That was 2015-17. Fast forward 2 years later to 2019 and I finally look up the soundtrack to Supercross Encore. It was like gold. I finally knew what that part was from, and that part, and that other part. Fast forward another year and I was watching guitarheroroxs' WOR videos and found a song called "Calling" in the playlist. I didn't pay any attention to it until I actually played the video and found out it was THAT calling. I never thought that song was in a game I had knew about for 2 years.

Once I knew that, I was determined to FC it. Watching a couple videos of the FC and I found out that the intro was deemed the hardest part, almost like a Holiday in Cambodia situtation. I thought "Hey, that'll probably be the same case for me. I learn the apparently very hard intro and then FC the rest of the song. I mean, it's like a nerfed the way it ends with a not very hard solo, how bad could it be?"

Oh man, what a poor, unaware bastard I was.

I remember the first time I got passed the intro. Literally shitting my pants. Then I choked the 1st verse. Oh well I thought, I'll just FC the intro again and the rest of the song will be easy.

Then it happened again.

And again..

And again...

And again...

And again....

I spent over 80 minutes in that one session alone. And I got over 30 post intro chokes. Not even exaggerating. I dedicated some more sessions to it, and in total I had 94 post intro chokes.

Then, tragedy struck. My xbox would always freeze after I would put in WOR. So I deemed it broken and had to wait till I had money to buy a new one. So in the meantime I fced the song on Clone Hero to feel atleast a tiny bit better.

Then came Christmas 2021, which is where I got WOR again, and money for a new guitar. 4 days later I got a new guitar and was set on grinding it. In one session I got 19 post intro chokes before calling it for the night (no pun intended). Then, I decided to dedicate another session today. But everytime I would get passed the intro, I would have the most stupid miss of all time. I started to think that I would never be able to FC the song on GHWOR no matter how good I got. It just wasn't meant to be.

That is, until I got to the solo.

I did have 1 solo choke before, and that made me a little less nervous about missing in the solo thank god.

Then, I got passed the solo.

There we go, fucking nerve city. The last time I felt as nervous as I did was when I got passed the Demon(s) solo on GH5.

Now it was up to the engine to decide if I would FC.

Because I'll let you know I did have a post-solo choke over a year back because I didn't strum early enough, thanks game.

I knew I could get it, and the outro was the scary part. I was getting closer to the R R YB in the outro. Which is where Send It! choked the song at once at 150% speed. I was absolutely petrified of that happening.

But, it didn't happen.

I fced it. I fced Calling.

My almost 2 1/2 year dream finally came true. After 135+ post intro chokes, one solo choke, and one post-solo choke, I got it.

The curse is broken.

Supercross Encore wasn't a good game anyways.
