Here are two ways to add text to your model in SUBSTANCE PAINTER. Keep in mind that the amount of UV space given to the polys that your text will go on is important for crisp, clear text. The more space, the better. You can also increase the texture resolution in SP to improve sharpness of text and all other textures on your model (ie. increase from 1024 to 2048).

A third method to add text is by creating the text in photoshop, gimp or some other graphics software and saving it as a png (generally with white text on transparent background) and importing that image as an alpha into SP.
