The mid-1990s was one of the most exciting eras in the history of video games, and when Sega released the first true 3D fighting game, it was considered by many to be the thing that might ensure the company survives the 'console war' with Nintendo and Sony.

Sadly, 'Virtua Fighter' didn't accomplish that, but what it did was serve as proof that the future would be polygonal. What it lacked in terms of characters and storyline, it made up for with engaging gameplay and staggering visuals for the time.

So for the return of 'Suckerpunch Sunday,' we boot up the Sega Saturn for the first time and put its flagship title to the test!
