Suikoden II (1998) is a JRPG by Konami for the PlayStation and a direct sequel to Suikoden (1995). Set in the war-torn Dunan region, it follows the protagonist and his best friend Jowy as they end up on opposing sides of a brutal conflict. The game builds on its predecessor’s turn-based combat, large-scale battles, and the “108 Stars of Destiny” recruitment system. Praised for its emotional storytelling and deep political narrative, Suikoden II initially had a modest release but later gained cult status as one of the greatest RPGs of all time.
