Giiker Super Blocks is a cross between a digital and traditional puzzle game.
The game is played on a 8x8 LED peg board with blocks of various shapes and colors that can be placed on the board.
There is also a small display showing the colors required for each level and a button panel.
After you select the game level, some of the pegs will light up forming a shape (or multiple shapes). To find a solution you have to cover the lit up areas with a the correct combination and placement of the blocks.
The game stars with relatively easy puzzles (only shapes of one color are required) and then progresses to more complex, two, three, or four color puzzles. There are over 1000 puzzles in total.
There are 3 modes of play:
Regular Mode (as described above)
Learn Mode where you can switch the lights on the board to display the step by step solution to a given puzzle (press the button and the lights will show you where the next block should be placed).
Time Limits Challenge (works only with selected levels) where you have to solve the puzzle in a given time, indicated by the blue progress on the left side of the board. After the puzzle is complete you will be automatically awarded with a score (displayed on the pegboard) where 'S' is the top score and then A through E (lower grades).
What we liked about Giiker Super Blocks: the concept! No phone/tablet required. Puzzles form easy (for kids and beginners) to very challenging. The Learn Mode (really helps if you get stuck). Easy operation. Great for developing critical thinking skills.
