Time to return to a classic Flash game.

First time managing to beat this game on default settings as none other than the bountry hunter herself. She's also accompanied by Pit and his dark clone that honestly aren't that different from her other than shooting from a lower point and not being able to morph into a ball (which sure isn't a bad thing)
Unlike some other characters, she has a really high jump height which helps a lot. Her ability to shoot upwards also makes her one of the best for dealing with Lakitus.
The main issue of every playable character besides Mario and Luigi is how slow they are. They end up directly fighting a lot of enemies which can make you run out of time in the long later levels. You can see that in most of World 8.
As long as she has a mushroom, she can safely fight most enemies from a distance and most importantly, Bowser. If not, missiles can deal with him and they even can damage Bullet Bills and Buzzy Beetles, which is an absolute rarity from characters in this game.
The Screw Attack doesn't really work with SMB's level design and honestly I don't think I've ever seen it damage an enemy. Just a sound you have to deal with most of the time you jump.
The Varia Suit makes Samus immune to Fire Bars, which eliminates most of the challenge in the castles and also lets you deal with the Unreasonably Long Fire Bar in 5-4. Sadly I didn't have it by that moment and lost a bunch of lives on it.
She can choose between two weapons, the Wave Beam and the Ice Beam. The Wave Beam is better early on to plow through the weak enemies and the Ice Beam is better later on to freeze annoying enemies and use them as platforms or simply get past them. Ice Beam's not recommended for combat since you effectively need to fire twice as much to defeat enemies. It even freezes Bullet Bills, which is very helpful for all the annoying late game stages. Good use of the Ice Beam is shown in 7-2, where I use it to bypass all the Bloopers.

What more can I say other than that it's actually my first time beating SMB in general? I screwed up pretty badly in 8-1 and ended up having to do the demonic 8-2 with no power-ups. I got carried by the amount of lives I had in reserve.
