Growing up, I only knew Nintendo from it's hit-or-miss arcade games. The local bowling alley had Slalom, Excitebike, Punch-Out!, and Super Mario Bros. While Punch Out was cool, it was too tough. Same goes for Excitebike. Super Mario Bros., however, was the true gem. Playing with a joystick was how I first experienced it. It wouldn't be until around the time SMB2 came out that I finally got an NES and could play the original as much as I wanted. A true masterpiece that inspired this kid's love of games ever since...
