I played pokemon emerald when I was...9 I think. And it was my first pokemon game so I didn't know a lot of things. EVs, IVs, the fact that I had no idea that the type of the move determined whether it was special or physical. And my plan of attack was...just that. Attack. And keep attacking while hoping for the best.
So my memories of emerald may be a bit unsuitable to take my word for. Tate and Liza were still beasts regardless. That much is practically objective fact.
