Super Mario World ExGFX Tutorial 1
Q: What is ExGFX?
A: An extension of graphics files you can insert into Super Mario World. These don't change the original graphics but instead add onto them separately.
Q: Joined GFX files?
A: If this is checked, your files in the Graphics folder will be compressed into "AllGFX". Otherwise, they're all separate. I would advise picking the one you prefer and sticking with it.
Q: What is hex?
A: Shorthand for hexadecimal / base 16. In romhacking and other mean of accessing and working with computer data, it is stored in binary though that is made easier to read by using base 16. Counting in base 16 can start at 0, then goes 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, A, B, C, D, E, F, 10, 11... as opposed to the standard 1 through 10. Try to make yourself familiar with this.
Also, you can mix and match Super Mario World's graphics, or even insert ones from other games (which were converted to ExGFX files, including palette and Map16 files for ease of insertion and readablility). I'll go over that a bit in another ExGFX tutorial video.
