Adventure Mode: World of Light Part 1
Before I begin with the video, I included an audio from one of my active commenters, Kevin Velasquez. Why? Because I want a voice to be heard since the Smash Ultimate leak that happened weeks ago forced Nintendo to blacklist Mexico from obtaining their products.
So yeah, the game came out yesterday and you can blame both Amazon and the USPS for not providing me my game on that day. What crap!
Either way, it’s here. It’s finally here. Super Smash Bros. has arrived on the Nintendo Switch as Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. The fifth entry in the Smash Bros. series, this is a game where everyone is here. Every single character from every Smash game is here along with many new ones such as Ridley, Simon Belmont, King K. Rool and others. There’s a lot to do in this game.
But as I mentioned already, this is going to be split into three parts: World of Light, Classic Mode and Online Battles. We start first with World of Light.
World of Light is the game’s adventure mode. It is an evolution of the Subspace Emissary mode that was in Smash Bros. Brawl. Basically a powerful foe named Galeem wipes out all the heroes and the universe, reshaping it into a mish-mashed world where it would rule. Only Kirby survived. Now it’s up to Kirby to explore this new world, free the captured fighters and destroy Galeem. You move in this new world, battling against copies of captured fighters and freeing the Spirits that enslave them. You do start off with Kirby at first but as time goes on, you free more fighters and you can use them to continue the journey.
The game also emphasizes the use of Spirits and they come in two kinds: main and support. Main spirits provide different effects and at times can hold support spirits providing different effects. Main spirits also come in different categories: Attack, Guard, Dodge and Jump and it also follows a rock-paper-scissors mechanic too. Main spirits can also be leveled up and the higher the level, the stronger the spirit. You will need them if you are to survive against this strange new world.
Each part will be about an hour long and I do plan on a 100% run. It means we have to find every spirit in order for us to be at our absolute strongest. We shall continue this journey in Part 2.
