Super Smash Bros. Ultimate - Winning an Online Tourney!
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate ver 4.0 is here! Along with this new version came a variety of DLC and patch notes, a new character named Hero, and... an Online Smash Tourney mode! So I decided to record myself getting my first online tournament win!

For today's Whatever Wednesday video, I decoded to record some online tourneys in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate! I used my three main characters (Yoshi, Ice Climbers, and Little Mac) and played some matches according to Nintendo's ruleset. This meant that the stage selection was completely random, the matches each had a 2-minute 30 second time limit, all items were enabled, and stocks were set at 2 per player. While I wouldn't say that this would ever be my preferred ruleset, the rules made the matches go by quickly enough so that I could record a fair share of different matches for this video. So, if nothing else, I appreciate the fact that I was able to play so many matches so quickly.
And because this is a Whatever Wednesday video, I decided to experiment with the format of how I wanted to edit this video. Whereas my other SSBU videos are more narratively driven and focus on my results as a competitive Smash tourney-goer, this video was more of a silly video that just showcases some of the hilarity that can occur in the game's online multiplayer modes. This video is more of a one-off video that can be watched in isolation, and since that's the main idea behind my Whatever Wednesday series of videos, that's why this video is a "Whatever Wednesday video" and not a "Road to Sakurai" video.
Furthermore, the newest character, the Hero, popped up quite a few times in these tourneys. Although I didn't play as him, a fair share of my opponents did. So, if you're looking for Hero gameplay, then that's as close as I got for this video. I'll discuss the Hero in one of my future Smash Ultimate videos! For the time being, I hope that you folks enjoy some of the highlights from these crazy free-for-all matches that I played!
The song used in the final portion is a remix of Grey's Theme from Mega Man ZX Advent by MetaZero: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xp-epUfRdAA
Thank you, and enjoy! ;)
