TRANSCRIPT:
Let’s talk about Patreon. But first, a reminder about why I started How Stories Work with Jay Sherer:

Imagine if the next wave of storytelling enthusiasts... (writers, directors, producers... film, television, and literary critics... actors and actresses—anybody who loves storytelling) Imagine if the next wave of impactful storytelling enthusiasts came from the supporters of this channel...

That’s the goal. And I’d love for YOU to be one of those supporters.

Patreon is a place for people, like me, to create a community. In this case, a community of people who are passionate about storytelling.

And when you support me, I get to provide more resources back to the community. Even if you don’t support me, you can still get access to my YouTube videos, my podcasts, and my articles. So if you’re strapped for cash and don’t feel like you can support me right now, please subscribe to all the channels and get those resources for free.

FIRST TIER: MORE CONTENT

But, if you do have the means to support the channel, I give you even more content. At the first level, you get access to Aftercasts—shows I do after videos and podcasts that include some of my additional thoughts.

I also give you access to podcast show outlines BEFORE those shows come out. Here’s why: I’m going to be interacting with storytellers—writers, producers, directors, etcetera—and I want you to see our discussion points so you can start thinking about our topic long before we ever hit record. Which means you can give me your feedback and insights, and I can read it on the show.

That’s the first tier. Let me give you an example. If I do a show on the greatest characters of all time, you get to come up with your own list WHILE we’re coming up with ours. And if you comment with your list, I can share it on the show. Then, after the show—on the Aftercast—I’ll share additional insights or reactions to what we just recorded.

And that’s just the first tier…

SECOND TIER: GUIDES & PROMPTS

If you’re a storyteller, I highly recommend upgrading to the second tier, because you get everything in the first tier, PLUS you unlock access to my Storyteller Guides—resources for people involved in storytelling.

Using my previous example, we’ll talk about great characters and what makes them great on the podcasts and in my videos, but if you’re supporting me at the second tier, you’ll ALSO get a guide (a workbook and videos) on how to flesh out great characters.

That’s a fantastic tier for storytellers.

THIRD TIER: ONE-ON-ONE TIME (WITH OPTIONAL PROMO!)

And then, for those who want to take it to the next level, there’s the third tier, which includes everything in the two lower tiers, PLUS once a month we’ll have a 60-minute conversation about storytelling. And, if you want, that conversation can be exclusive OR I can record it and make it available on the YouTube channel and the podcast feed.

If you’re a storyteller who wants to learn more about a topic, or maybe you want to promote one of your own works, sign up for that tier and we’ll have a fantastic conversation.

If you like my videos and podcasts, please consider supporting me on Patreon! I would love to have you as part of the community. And, I really want to share those additional How Stories Work resources with you! But, ultimately, the choice is yours.

Thanks for watching. Now, let’s go tell better stories!
