Switch Starlink: Battle for Atlas DDE G26, 1P gameplay, Sonatus expansion & Workshop functions.
Now caught up on the Startlink Database, it is my intention to expand my territory in the Trade Sector of Atlas, starting with Sonatus. Vid timeline:
(0:00) Startlink Mission. Outpost Search: Go and Locate Hushlight Refinery.
I test the function of the "Request Mission", with creates Startlink Missions. Usually linked to directing me to meed the aliens running Expedition and Prospector establishments, it will sometimes direct me towards a hostile spot, Legion or Outlaw to complete a task. Finally there's the Warden locations.
(5:41) Prospector Mission. Stand Your Ground: Destroy the Outlaw Rogue.
Connected to the Starlink Missions that direct me to an Expedition or Prospector establishment, is the "Offer Help" request once engaged with whoever alien is running it.
Completing the task given will then complete the securement of the building involved, causing them to add add their abilities or production to the greater cause. And trading can also be initiated. Sometimes, such aliens will direct one to a minor location, like a Colony or Prison to complete a task. In that case, clearing such areas of enemies will result in their capture, which would then allow such buildings to add whatever minor contributions they capable of delivering to the greater cause.
In this case, the alien direct me to Hunt down some Outlaw trouble makers. To my surprise, the legion took care of them, before I took care of the Legion. The the building attached to this task, became part of the Starlink Initiative. It's Electrum extraction now added along with the others in the system.
(9:34) Mistshore Workshop: Switching Pilot and Ship.
Having secured one of the Refineries it place my attention on Fern's place. Fern in now onboard the Equinox. Hence the reason I took her and her ship. Like Karl, she's an Alien belonging to the Expedition. But unlike him, she runs a Workshop. The first time I encounter that type of building.
(14:26) Expedition Mission. Blazing a Trail: Pick up the Heat Corrupted Nova.
I Offer Help to that building and it triggered a task involving the Sorona Colony. Bring back the Heated Corrupted Nova located there. Once I destroyed the Cyclops guarding it, the building became part of the Initiative, and I was able to proceed with the task at hand. In addition, such locations usually are the store sites to other goodies.
(24:07) Expedition Mission. Pick up the Heat Corrupted Nova, Bring the Heat Corrupted Nova back to the Mistshore Workshop.
Examining the Workshop after delivering the Heat Corrupted Nova revealed that it has a Ship Repair and Mod purchase nenu! These are higher level Mods, aparently more so that those feature on the shipment of Mods this building is capable of delivering every now and them. But I'm not exactly sure how it all works yet. More time need to find out how a building like this can help me in the long run.
(33:31) Expedition Mission. Atlas Safari: Pick up the Analyzer: Ursataur, Use the Analyzer: Ursataur to scan Ursataur Scanned 0 of 3.
The next task that was given to me by this building upon offering help and a scan task. Unfortunately, I was unable to find the animals in question and ended up cancelling the mission.
(42:52) Startlink Mission. Outpost Search: Go and Locate Harmonious Observatory.
Things go south on the next Starlink Mission when I decided to take out a near by Imp Hive in route to an Observatory.
It turned out to be protected by a new type of weapon never before encountered, more powerful than expected. And as a result, I got killed...
This cause the mission to fail. So much for Fern right? Of well, I respawn back at he Mistshore Workshop, ready to resume.
