As far as I can tell, the year 2039 is the last "checkpoint year" you get before you have to run through all ten stages of the game.

A full run from the year 2039 is incredibly difficult, as you can gain up to 5 alien lifeforms to chase you all at once, and that a full run must go for almost 30 minutes straight.

Basically, it's a nightmare. Loads of fun this game, go check it out.

Switchcars is a vehicular roguelike arcade set in a broken spacetime. Escape alien beasts over procedural environments, using more than 1,000 vehicles. You'll crash or run out of fuel, but that's okay - you'll switch to another vehicle. All you need to do is reach the year 2055. In theory!
