Synapse Orion Using MidiOut to control patternless FXs
Press pause to see each step. Watch in HD. This is a basic example but think big, what you can do after learning this is awesome!
I write this TIP using Orion 7.6.0.2, because in 8.XX my favourite Phaser is Gone :( But the same Idea is applied in any version with any FX.
I don´t like automation and song events editor and all that things, because is not easy to be reedited each time I change the focus of my songs. Musicians and Engineers loves do that, but I think they have patience to re do everything instead to work with automated patterns like I will show you.
This TIP is not useful with everything, is limited to the chance of the FX to work ON/OFF itself. For example:
Orion 7.6.0.2
(FX Misc) Phaser CAN stay ON/OFF adjusting Dry/Wet Knob.
(FX Misc) Platinum Phaser CAN'T stay ON/OFF.
Let´s Begin:
1.Add to your project a MidiOut (MENU-Insert-MidiOut)
2.To your instrument channel, right click over "Insert #1", and choose "New Effect-FX Misc-Phaser"
3.In Phaser Configuration Menu choose "Receive MIDI from Generator-MidiOut", then choose "Link To Next MIDI Controller-Dry/Wet"
4.In MidiOut Configuration Menu choose "Link To Next MIDI Controller-Vol". At this moment you can control Phaser Dry/Wet with the MidiOut Vol Knob. You can made complex things to use others Knobs, but this is the short way.
5.So, view the piano Roll of your MidiOut, click on "evt" button (look bottom right), on the ComboBox choose "Vol". Draw the automation you want.
6.Finally place this pattern wherever you want! and your instrument will be controlled by that MidiOut. Enjoy!
