Every once in while, I come across a game that, although not GOTY material, I find to be very interesting enough to play it all the way to the end. This one example here is Syndicate, developed by Starbreeze Studios and published by EA [yuck!]. While it certainly suffers from "Console-itis": With over-the-top lighting effects, really shallow FOV which can't be adjusted [UPDATE: FOV can be fixed with a mod!], and a short campaign time with only Co-Op as a Multiplayer feature, it's still a decent game that's worth playing if you can buy for FAR lower than it's asking price. I actually bought this through Amazon for 1 dollar [yes, ONE DOLLAR!] + Shipping & Handling so, as mediocre of an arcade FPS as it might be, I couldn't pass up on a deal like that!

On to the plot summary:

So here we are, in a future setting far past the year 2017, where a corporate merger between electronic companies create what is then called "Eurocorp". Eurocorp has essentially invented a microchip that could be installed in the back of a person's brain [as long as said person can afford it] and, powered by Adrenaline, it can immerse that person in a digital world far faster and more efficiently than any digital device is fully capable of -- rendering all electronic devices such as smartphones, cellphones, PC's, Tablets, and Media Devices completely obsolete. As time went by, more and more people have decided to get "chipped", and eventually they lose touch with reality to the point where politics and human rights of any kind is no longer relevant. Instead, huge chip corporations, including Eurocorp, basically dominated the world in every respect, and privacy was a thing of the past. In about 20-50 years time, industrial espionage goes through the roof, and patent infringement of any sort is dealt with in cold blood with the help of Agents that kill for hire.

Oh, awesome! More time fighting incompetent opponents! Cayman Global is literally a breeze to push through. Still, when this is all over, my bonus better be as big as the dent I'm about to leave on that agent's head when I'm through with him and finally get this bitch back in Eurocorp hands.

Shouldn't be too difficult...right?

*For those of you about to question what difficulty I'm playing this game with, it's on Hard difficulty.*
