My addiction to roguelikes tends to favor the mindless sort that let you zone out and go on autopilot, which Synthetik is anything but. Even reloading has multiple mechanics built into it to keep you laser focused on everything you need to do, with multiple upgrade tracks and methods of customization to micromanage at all times if you want any hope of getting anywhere in this brutally difficult top-down shooter. But hey, all those options keep you coming back to try new things, and the online co-op (not featured in this video but I have tried it previously) is an excellent way to turn the tides in your favor.
