Death in System Shock can result in one of two things, respawning, or permanent death. Which of those it is depends on whether or not you have turned off the cyborg conversion unit.

Also, Cyborg enemies can be painful. They take/dish out a lot more punishment than mutants, but they are still subject to the same flaws as the mutants. AI and Pathing.
