So. Nightdive Studios released a demo for their upcoming remake of System Shock 1. Having recently LP'd System Shock Enhanced Edition, backed the Kickstarter, and played the Kickstarter demo, I felt it appropriate to take a look.

SUMMARY OF THOUGHTS SO FAR.
So far the game appears to be coming along nicely. There are a few textures which obviously need to be worked on, judging by the placeholder warning. The atmosphere is nice and creepy, but not too scary for a wuss like me. The enemies are threatening, and the weapons feel impactful. I think starting over in a new engine was the right choice to make, as what they have done with the unreal engine is great so far.

Here's to hoping the rest of the game ends up being as good (and not an epic exclusive).
