The Russian T-72B3 tank with the Arena-M active protection system was shown by journalist Alexei Egorov in the Uralvagonzavod assembly shop. Earlier, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced the conclusion of a contract for the installation of Arena-M systems on T-90M Proryv tanks. It is unknown whether this is a production version or a prototype of the tank, but the contract did not mention T-72B3 tanks with the Arena-M protection system. Earlier in 2023, the Russian Ministry of Defense patented a sample of the T-72B3 tank with this active protection system. The tank is equipped with 12 shafts with protective ammunition placed on the turret brackets. The shafts with protective ammunition are distributed in such a way that they provide all-round protection of the tank from rocket-propelled grenades, missiles and enemy ammunition.
