T-Rex - NoLimits Coaster
I've had coasters on the brain this week so I dug out NoLimits Coaster and Newton2 again to try to make something. I tried about 6 different coasters before this one. Most barely made it halfway into construction before I gave up, one I finished but didn't bother with supports since the 2nd half of the ride seemed lame (although I may finish it anyways). Then I made this one, which was at least presentable. T-Rex is an Intamin Pre-fabricated woodie (if you have no idea what that means, look up El Toro at Six Flags Great Adventure) with the main emphasis being on hills generating ridiculous amounts of airtime (negative g-forces). The negative g's max out at -1.4g's on the fastest runs, which is yellow on the g-force meter, but from my research, it is estimated El Toro and T-Express both pull -1.5g's so I just used that as my limit.
Unfortunately, I realized too late that the g-force calculator in Newton2 is by default compatible with coasters with improved friction turned off. This caused the g's on the turn to not match Newton2, and cut my plans for an El Toro-esque turning twisting finale in favor of two more airtime hills. Thus, the ride ends up shorter than originally wanted. I may go back later and try to fix it up. Unfortunately, since I caught the Newton2 problem so late, the turns throughout the ride are fairly funky g-force wise. I know the positive g's remain green through all turns and as far as I could tell, so do the lateral g's. However, there may be a very very small spike I may have missed, but if there is one I think it would be in the yellow at the worst.
The official terraformer still doesn't work with my computer for some reason, so I had to use the old terraformer. However, the old terraformer is annoying so I used the "generate landscape and trees" tools until I got something that looked somewhat like what I imagined.
Finally, as with almost all of my videos, the colors are messed up due to Windows Vista's Movie Maker sucking, and the frame rate makes the ride seem faster than it is in the simulator.
Coaster Type: Wooden Classic 6 seater (closes thing to the Intamin trains)
Height: ~165 feet
Speed: ~68 MPH
Positive G's: ~4.0Gs
Negative G's: -1.4Gs
