T7: A Lesson In Courage
107Whenever you encounter an opponent that's better than you and presents an uphill battle, you need to summon your courage. For these situations, you gotta go into the match with two things mind:
1.) Being ready to get bodied.
2.) Being ready to learn.
Simple as that, it's great practice for playing at a high level, because you need to be able to have a balance between spontaneous instinct and calm defensive fundamentals. It's very tough but that's how you practice it--you gotta believe in yourself and your reads. In these two matches it looks like I was playing kind of YOLO, but really it was just a combination of courage, creativity, and calculated risk. There's a fine line between being courageously effective and courageously detrimental =p.
