In this video, we show how to install an ARB Diff Breather on a 3rd gen Tacoma. This would also work on a 2nd gen Tacoma.

When going off-road, the differentials get warm and vents out the breather valve on the top of the diff. However, when crossing deep waters and the valve is submerged then water can get into the diff. Water and diff fluid does not mix well and can cause the gears and axles to not get the proper lubrication it needs.

Installing the ARB Diff Breather in a higher location will prevent water from getting into the diff.
