Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon is an open world action role-playing video game developed by Questline and published by Awaken Realms. Set in a dark fantasy reimagining of Arthurian legend, the game was released in early access for Windows in late 2022, with a full release on May 23, 2025 for Windows, PlayStation and Xbox. Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon takes place on the island of Avalon, approximately 600 years after King Arthur's reign and subsequent fall.[1][2] The land is afflicted by a plague known as the Red Death and the Wyrdness, a "chaotic, primordial force" that alters reality and the beings within it.[1][3] The player begins as a prisoner who discovers they are bound to the soul of the long-dead King Arthur. The main quest involves collecting the remaining pieces of Arthur's soul to aid in his resurrection.
