Rating for this week’s episode: 8
This 3-part crossover was released as a one-hour special on DVD along with Lone Rat and Cubs. There will be spoilers if you prefer to wait until they air on Nickelodeon.
It’s time for another crossover with the 87 TMNT, except it’s three parts long. Thankfully it’s a good one. The 87 cast reprise their roles and they do real well. 87 Shredder makes his appearance, voiced by Kevin Michael Richardson. He does a great job and made the late James Avery proud. 2012 Bebop and Rocksteady were hilarious and helped provide a balance to 87 Shredder and Krang.
Action is aplenty with loads of humor. The chemistry is great with everyone involved and all characters got ample screen time. But the episode does have its flaws and they really tacked on the 80s references. They tacked a lot of it. Also the 87 Turtles aren’t treated right and in a way, it was done to mock it. I could be wrong about it because they do develop over time and become real good. Personally 2012 Bebop & Rocksteady are the highlights since well, a lot of focus was on them especially at the end.
Regardless I did enjoy the crossover big time but I wish that the flaws didn’t hinder the whole thing.
Hope you enjoy the review. Next time you see me will be my thoughts of another big event. There’ll be a schedule update explaining things.
