Also, you definitely should test out your pc to see if it can even handle running vtubestudio, recording software, games, etc at the same time BEFORE buying a custom model, because that is another hurdle I have seen discourage new vtubers.
I think its important we be transparent with people who want to get into vtubing because it is a super fun way to make content!
The price I paid for my main model is considered incredibly affordable (especially nowadays) and I still consider myself very lucky to have been able to commission them when I did. I have seen people commission very expensive custom models and then realize they either dont like vtubing, dont like making content (streaming or videos or whatever), or that they don't have the proper pc set up.
So before investing a lot of money into vtubing, I always recommend you try it out first! Either with a paid premade model, there are lots on etsy, or one of the free 2d models in VTubeStudio (you cant use them commercially tho, only to play around), or you can make your own 3D vtuber for free with Vroid Studio.
