The event was interrupted by ten bomb threats in a single day. Local authorities evacuated the venue along with the surrounding city block. The event received virtually no national media coverage. \n\nThe subject was the then-year-old GamerGate controversy. It is the controversy which The New York Times declared, “changed the way we fight online.”* It is a controversy that was argued everywhere from the annals of Twitter to the halls of the United Nations.\n\nAirplay is the documentary about that discussion. It is accompanied by many news articles, YouTube videos, and social media posts, documenting the controversy in real time.
