Here is a funk/fusion arrangement from Impact Gameworks premiere 16-bit roguelike dungeon crawler, Tangledeep!

I've known Andrew "zircon" Aversa for quite a long time. We became friends on OverClocked Remix back when I was in college, and I started working for his sample library company Impact Soundworks in 2010. Over the past couple years, he has impressively worked on Tangledeep almost entirely by himself, and just recently released it. When he asked me to contribute to it's soundtrack's remix album, I knew I couldn't pass that up.

I love arranging music from my favorite games, but there's something special about arranging music written by your friends. In addition to doing most of the coding gruntwork, zircon also scored the entire game (minus a few tracks by guest composers Norihiko Hibini, Grant Kirkhope, and Hiroki Kikuta!). This soundtrack really brings me back to the SNES era of games like Chrono Trigger and Secret of Mana, and he did a fantastic job of encapsulating that essence. If you like roguelikes and dungeon crawlers, I definitely recommend checking this game out!
