Tanx Update: Teams and Multiple AI, allies and foes.
Well, it's coming along nicely, though the AI do take up a huge chunk of CPU to run since they use pathing, which is kind of slow. Good news though, this means that the more clients on the game, the faster it will be. It runs fine with 10-15 AI mobs, after that though it starts to slow down considerably.
Thankfully I can set a cap so that AI enemies and allies only spawn in relation to the number of clients and the number of AIs currently playing. Logging in will cause you to replace an AI, unless each team already has a client, then you will be added and the teams will all get an extra AI ally.
Ultimately each team will be restricted to a max of three AI bots. So, if you have four players, all on separate teams, then each team will have four tanx, 1 player and three bots. If another player joins then a bot will be replace. Basically, the teams will always be even, but if more bots can be evenly added to the teams then they will be. Or at least that's what I ope to do, for now though, max of 3 per team. In fact, you can even spectate on full AI matches if you want. I'm thinking of making this a gameplay type where you can customize the AI of your team, though, I'm still considering it =P
