When I began this TAS, I had no expectation of finishing it. The game was very underdeveloped; within the first five minutes of working on an actual level, I discovered a better way to avoid the character's skidding animation when sprinting for a prolonged period of time. This immediately saved significant time in RTA runs, where along with other new strategies, I was able to push the record down by nearly a minute with plenty more to go. After that discovery, I decided to pursue a full game TAS. Over the course of about two weeks, I spent 25-30 hours working on this run. I had never made a TAS of anything longer than a short individual level before this, but TAStudio in Bizhawk made it pretty simple. As for the TAS itself, it is very obviously not perfect. There are bound to be faster room routes and minor optimizations that I overlooked, and I admittedly did not look very hard for any sort of skips or glitches. I would love to see some more advancements when it comes to the game, but for now I will focus on improving the RTA record. This TAS beats the RTA record by five minutes and three seconds, which for a game this short is pretty staggering. I will have to try my best to close this gap!
