These are all par for the course in Secret of Evermore, a very loose "sequel" to Secret of Mana ( https://tasvideos.org/Games/Snes-secret-of-mana ). The story follows a boy that is thrust into a virtual world and finds himself with no immediate means to escape. As the boy travels, the geography changes to reflect certain eras of real-life history, adding a unique aspect to the game.
