Welcome to The Lordsi Youtube Channel, My Names Lordsi (Simon Hall), im a passionate Content creator and streamer. I make all types of content from reactions, funyn videos, vlogs, skits, gaming and so much more. It’s phenomenal, of course. Does Nintendo’s much-hyped sequel to the extraordinary Breath of the Wild live up to the dizzying heights of its predecessor? Yes, somehow, and more beyond. But we’ll get to all that. Let’s start where Tears of the Kingdom begins.
Trying to rebuild the ravaged kingdom of Hyrule, Princess Zelda and her protector Link are exploring beneath the desolated castle they once called home. Clutching the Master Sword, an ancient weapon with the power to banish evil, nothing can stop them.
But in a forgotten tomb the pair find a corpse locked in place by a skeletal hand. As they stare, it shudders back to life. Corruption flows from it, chewing its way through the sword and up Link’s arm. The ledge they’re standing on breaks and they’re falling…
… then Link awakens on an island in the sky. Alone, weakened, his whole arm missing and the Master Sword just a lump of useless metal. Zelda is gone.
That first sky island - the Garden of Time - is this game’s tutorial. Gradually it introduces fundamental mechanics on which the whole game will rest: the powers Ascent, Recall, Fuse, and Ultra-Hand (I’ve explained those in detail in my game preview so read that if you’re not fully caught up) and the first hints of a plot, but I’ll leave that for you to discover.
Though Ascend is clearly the Cryonis of the bunch - useful, but not often, the others are wonderful. Ultra-hand was my favourite, it turns out when you can pick up anything the whole game world starts to feel tactile. A walk through a forest felt like being a kid at one of those touchy-feely museums. The mechanic feels as revelatory as that first time you could climb a cliff or leap off a mountain with a paraglider.
