Tech Toy Tutorials: Anbernic RG505 and RG405 Bootloader Unlock and Magisk Root
12to get your bootloader unlocked, you need to have ADB installed on your computer https://github.com/K3V1991/ADB-and-FastbootPlusPlus
turn on your device and go into settings, about, scroll to the bottom and tap build number 5 times. After this go back to settings, then system, and developer options. Ensure developer options are enabled, and USB debugging are enabled. Connect your device to your PC via USB and click allow on the screen(tap the allways allow box too). Then launch the new adb terminal on your desktop(ADB & Fastboot++).
Then you must issue the command:
adb reboot bootloader
Then you will get to fastboot mode.
After this is done, you can unlock the bootloader by using Chrome, and going here: https://turtleletortue.github.io/subut-rehost
This is all you need to do, you may now type fastboot reboot, and upon reboot, you will notice the screen said unlocked. Install the magisk apk before flashing the patched boot.img
The next step is to use the research/download tool or fastboot to flash a magisk patched boot.img(if using research or download tool, turn the device off and launch the program(came with the unbricker software), load the .pac file as per the unbrick video/process, click the 2 cog wheel icon, and unselect everything but boot, fdl1 and fdl2, double click the box next to boot and replace the file with the boot.img you downloaded that is patched. Make sure your device is off, and then connect it to your pc while holding home and back buttons, then click the play or triangle icon in the program on your pc to begin.
if you use fastboot, the command is fastboot flash boot boot-signed-505.img(use 405.img for 405)

After all of this, you are now magisk rooted, on first boot you will get a lot of annoying pop ups, grant the permissions, and then open the magisk apk, go into settings and turn off notifications for magisk to prevent these.
