Technology Chaning Personal Freedoms, And Leaving Us More Alone Than Ever.
Technology Chaning Personal Freedoms, And Leaving Us More Alone Than Ever.
We have all the technology and all of the things that we could ever want these days. We have easy cheap access to any movie or delight that we may want. Sexuality is evolving at a rapid pace. The birth control pill and social progress have put us in a new age where a woman can post sexual videos online and almost eliminate the middle man all together. OnlyFans is the newest, latest way for any person on Instagram to monetize their own sexuality. Technology is definitely making our lives easier, but we have fewer friends. This is a big problem.
One hundred years ago, it would be out of the question for even a woman of only the slightest capability of shame to pose nude, or be nude to anyone other than her husband. The west was mostly united under religon, and the religon banned pronz and sexy-time unless it was between a man and a wife. In under 100 years we have switched from that, to being able to be completly free with our sexuality. We still need to fear being hurt or murdered on a one night stand with a stranger. We still have the ability to get a life threatening illness. But scientific progress and technology has made it so that over-all, our health is much better even if we can't stop screwing around. Technology is so cheap or free right now that its easier than ever to spam the net with your naughty bits.
But at the same time, we have fewer friends. Why is that though? There was a test done about 70 years ago where people were asked how many friends they had that really knew them. Most people had about 5. These days, most people don't even have one. Why is this? Someone from a communist nation came to North America. In a reddit post about what the differences were like, he mentioned that his children have lots of technology but no friends. When he was young he had a flip knife and ran out into the woods for the day with other kids. This was when he was 6.
I don't know what it all means, but I think its important for understanding where we are going.
